The building featured space for demonstration and operation of heavy farm equipment, machinery for testing farm equipment, and included a wide variety of representative machines. The 1914-15 college catalog stated “all of this expensive equipment is available to students in Farm Mechanics in the regular and short course work.” This building is Gilmore Hall today. The college catalog stated that the physical education department “offers every man in the College an opportunity for wholesome participation in nearly every branch of recognized physical activity.” Those activities included swimming, boxing, polo, rowing, wrestling, fencing, tumbling, golf, cross country, speedball and playground ball.
